Inspired by this important stage in my life – graduating from university – I have written a text to the melody of Hanson “I Will Come To You” dedicated to university professors, lecturers and teachers, and certainly to my fellow-students. This song was originally aimed at being sung at the Last Bell Party in April. We were all first announced that each group should prepare a performance, and we decided that it should be a song. But when everything was ready, we got to know that a united performance was already been rehearsed by the representatives of different groups. The song did not fit in the general scenario, and it was settled that we would sing it at the Farewell Party in June. However it never came to be heard by anyone except Ox ‘coz no one finally wanted to rehearse anything as usual. Maybe at that moment I felt a bit disappointed and sad for the wasted pains, but nothing’s ever done in vain. I can at least put it hear :)
It’s for you girls – Giffie Ox, Mila, Krech, Novich, Renata, Alice-the-Raccoon, Huha, Lena, Anya, Katemich - and for all our fellow-students from groups 452a, 452b, 453, 454a, 454b and those German- and French Department guys who can understand these English lines :)))
We Will Never Forget
Though we strode through misfortune
And found some many things to torture
We will never forget university time
Though course papers were annoying
Our private life alloying
We will never forget university time
Sometimes we were in despair
Failing an exam
And said, “Profs do not care
Who I really am”.
But there is sense in every movement
It results in your improvement
Time will go, and we will know
What it was for
Even though these years weren’t easy
And at times we felt imprisoned
We will never forget university time
Though you preached, and we refused it
We were happy being students
And we’ll never forget university time
Na-na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
We will never forget
Na-na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
In spite of such a roads’ variety
We chose to be part of student society
Time will go, and we will know
What it was for
Even though these years weren’t easy
And at times we felt imprisoned
We will never forget university time
Looking back at times we have shared – tears and smiles
We see how much we gained in life
And though sometimes our actions hurt you
Deep in our hearts we’ve always loved you
And we won’t forget this time
Хоть легко нам не давался,
И, порой, тюрьмой казался,
Не забудем мы университет
Хоть шагали сквозь напасти,
Все же быть студентом – счастье
Не забудем мы университет

Can you believe it?
Can you believe it? University is over!
There’s no more 6 a.m. alarm clock ring making you hate the whole world and especially Dad who has recently fixed it on your computer table…
No more frantic running in the direction of the University building with the knowing you’re now more than 10 min late and a desperate entreaty that Svetlana Lvovna’s car should break on half the way to work this morning…
No more hope-break to see her shining car parked in the usual place…
No more preaching and explanatory letters why you were late again…
No more race over the building in search of a vacant chair, ‘coz there’s no chair left for a 10 min latecomer…
No more classes…
No more under-table leg-games with Alisa sitting opposite…
No more note-correspondence with Ox about romance in order not to be bored to death with a monotonous speech of the lecturer…
No more Yulya’s loud stretching herself with a shake of her fingers to show her record long nails to be followed…
No more Lena’s typing a love sms to Lyosha…
No more sudden recollection that Katya’s having a Birthday tomorrow, and starting off a money-gather campaign right in the middle of the lecture…
No more interbreak tours to Nadezhda Petrovna for the patties, chocolate and juice…
No more calorie-counting and searching the fastest and most effective diet 15 min later…
No more shocking surprise to know we have a seminar in Linguistics today!!!
No more still more shocking surprise to see Dima in the corridor with his hair colored in a new extreme way…
No more Dean’s office secretary chase to tell you’re as usual the only one among your fellow-students who hasn’t signed the needed documents yet…
No more exams…
No more pre-test shivering ‘coz you’re certainly not-prepared...
No more collecting the cribs from your fellow-students who have already passed, and choosing the best place to keep them secret…
No more realization that one of the cribs has just fallen out of your pocket with a brick-like sound…
No more stupid smiles to the examiner as you bend down to pick up the treacherous crib…
No more while-answer blah blah blah to make it longer…
No more after joy to see the excellent mark for your blah blah blah in the record-book…
No more McDonald’s visits with the girls to celebrate it with a choc-ice and a Cola Light… No more evening parties with the girls in a bar or in a night club to continue the celebration procedures…
No more morning hard-typing of the sms to Ox, “Do you remember what was yesterday?” No more tears…
No more smiles…
No more anything…
Can you believe it?

"Where do I begin?.."
Frankly speaking, I have no idea what I’m supposed to start with. I feel like I should say some introductory words, but the harder I go word-searching in my brains the less words occur to me at all. It’s just that I HAVE STARTED… You are welcome :)
